Labor Day

Saturday, September 5, 2009
Summer is over, so it was time for one last swim. We have had a great time at the pool this summer.
Bella and Melia.
Bella was making the most of her last pool day, lots of times down the slide and jumps off the side of the pool. She kept doing these twirls jumps. On the last one, she hit the side of the pool and got hurt. She said to me, "Mom, I remebered to twirl, but I guess I forgot about the jump part!" Sometimes, it is hard not to laugh.
Grandma Chris and June enjoying one last soak in the hot tub. After a long winter, we will be excited to see the pool again!

Stewart Falls

Friday, September 4, 2009
With Bret's Dad in town, we decided to hike to Stewart Falls, up near Sundance.
This was supposed to be a family friendly hike, but it was a little steep. Luckily, there were enough grown-ups to help out. Here is Bella with Grandma Chris.

We finally made it to the falls. It was a long hard trip, but worth it, they were beautiful!
Clyde and Chris
We decided to try a different way down, thinking it would be easier, it wasn't. This was seriously a hard hike for the kids.
We finally made it down to Sundance, but it was a long haul and we were pretty haggard. Chris and I took the kids for lunch at Sundance, while Bret and Clyde walked up the road another 4 miles to get our cars, poor guys. We later found out that most people just take the lift up to the falls, oh well.
Afterwards, we headed over to Swiss Days so I could do a little shopping. I think we were too tired because I only bought some shoes for June. Most people would have finished their day at this point, but not us, we headed over to Oakley, for a quick visit with Bret's Grandparents. They seem to be doing great. The place they are living allows it's residents to have dogs and June loved running after them. The best moments was when she got behind a lady in a wheel chair and started pushing her. After that, we headed over to the Oakley diner for dinner. By this time, June had gone from being pretty shy around Grandpa, to pointing at him and grunting "Papa" whenever she was unhappy or wanted something. It was as if she was saying "I am not happy and you need to fix it." Of course, he did. The girls were tired, but it was a great day. Let's do it again next year!

Great Salt Lake

Thursday, September 3, 2009
With all the haze from fires, Bret wanted to try and get some pictures of the girls at the Great Salt Lake. It was an interesting place to go, and very smelly. Bret has more pics on his fliker, these are a just a few of my favorites!
Kissy, kissy!
I let Bella watch America's Next Top Model with me, if you can't tell from all her sill picture poses!
June was very funny. She just wanted to walk around. On the way to the lake, I hadn't put her flower in her hair yet. She was very upset about this. She kept saying "Mama, mama." and pointing to her head where her bow should have been. It was pretty funny.

Swimming Friends

Wednesday, September 2, 2009
We had some great friends over to swim as summer came to an end. These kids sure looked cute all together on the float. (This is who got Belle to try the slide.)
The girls had a great time trying out new tricks with their dads!

Potato Face

Saturday, August 29, 2009
June loves to try and eat with a spoon! I just wish I could be more patient with the mess!

Special Leader

Thursday, August 27, 2009
Bella has been so excited to be the special leader at school. She has been practicing leading the line and checking the weather. It was finally her turn on red, white and blue day, she couldn't wait to get to school! She had a great time and I made sure to send her whistle!

Sand Box

Wednesday, August 26, 2009
Bret built the girls a sandbox at the beginning of the summer and the girls have had a great time playing in it.

June seems to eat more sand than she should!Bella loves making castles and fairy cookies!
The day the sand box was finished Bella told her Dad, "This is the best day of my life!"
