Memorial Day

Sunday, May 30, 2010
The Sunday before Memorial Day, we joined my family and Uncle Jim and his family to visit the graves of my relatives.
Grandma found her spot and thought she should try it out.
Grandpa Boyd thought he should be laid out a bit more casual.
The other kids thought it just meant time for a Grandpa pile!
Next we headed over to the Salt Lake cemetery which was crazy full of people. (Not just the dead ones either!) Bella was very impressed by the monument of President Hinckley.
June wanted to smell all of the flowers. (Sorry whoever this gravestone belongs too, we tried to teach her not to step on them.)
She loved all the flowers. Afterwards it was back to Grandma Pattie's for dinner and a fun surprise, S'mores!
Junie loves marshmallows so smores are a new favorite!

Pre Memorial Day

Friday, May 28, 2010
On a rainy and chilly Saturday before Memorial Day, we headed up to Ogden to visit the graves.
Bella and Melia were excited to see each other.

The Ogden cemeteries are neat to see with the flag and patriotic displays.

Grandpa DeYoung who organizes this every year.

Bella had her umbrella in case of rain.
Bret and Junie at Grandma June's grave.

The girls and Daddy.

Being a Gangsta

Thursday, May 27, 2010
Junie loves this little jacket, but insists on having the hood up! It's tough to be hard core, but someone has to do it!

Silly, Silly

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

My little June is such a silly girl! She has continued to have a fascination with the Small World Ride at Disneyland, even a month later. She asks about the boats first thing every morning and tells everyone she meets about them. She has started bargaining in her own way to see if we will take her. Most recently she came up with Dad, pirates, boats. You could tell she was letting us know she would be willing to go with Dad on the pirate ride if he would take her to the boats! I wish we could baby.

Her other latest saying is one of my favorites. We always call people "silly goose" in our family. Or even a gooser, as Uncle Jeremy says. June has picked up on this and likes to say "Funny Goose." She will let you know, so be prepared, here comes the funny goose!

Boats, boats

Monday, May 24, 2010
Junie is still obsessed with the boats at Disneyland. When I saw this shirt, I knew she had to have it! Of course, she insisted on being fancy too!

Pretty Spring Days?

Saturday, May 22, 2010
The weather is slightly warmer today so Bella finally got to wear this dress she has been dying to put on.
Silly girl is always moving!

LEt's hope this means summer is on it's way.

The Zoo

Friday, May 21, 2010
There seemed to be a break in the weather, so we decided to celebrate school being out with a trip to the zoo.

June just wanted to eat fish.
The elephants were very playful.

And the baby is still very cute.

Bella and Daddy

She was posing everywhere for her picture! (Why can't she do this when I want her picture done?)
The carousel. June has decided she is too big to be held on to, so don't even try. She won't let your hands be anywhere near her! It makes her mother very nervous!
Bella stayed close to catch her on the Kung Fu Panda!

School's Out

Thursday, May 20, 2010
Today was the last day of school! I am not sure if Bella is ready for school to be out, but mom sure is! Time for those lazy days of summer!

Hooray for summer fun! Now if it would only get warm!

The Graduate

Wednesday, May 19, 2010
It only took three years, but Bella has graduated from preschool!
The star of the show as always.
Telling the audience her dream of growing up to be a fashion designer.
It's official, posing with friend Taeya.

Grandma Pattie and Grandpa Boyd, who even took off work early, to make it to the big ceremony.
Grandma Chris made it too!
Her teacher, Miss Michelle.
Her very own fairy cake. I told her she didn't have to share it, but she was very excited to cut it into pieces to give everyone. Congratulations Bella! Good luck in the real world of kindergarten.

I want to be...

Sunday, May 16, 2010
Today was dress like what you want to be when you grow up at preschool. Bella has been through many different options, fairy, detective, but finally settled on fashion designer. She put this outfit together all by herself.

Happy Mother's Day!

Saturday, May 8, 2010
The girls surprised me with breakfast in bed!

Here is June trying out my present, a piano! I have wanted one for so long and am excited to finally get it!
After church we celebrated with Bret's family. Bella with her silly cousins.
June loved Uncle Matt, she kept sitting wherever he was.

We made macaroni necklaces in our sunbeams class so I brought the leftovers for the kids to play with. Junie needed a little help from Grandma.
Bella made hers for Grandma, and when it was too long she said, "Don't worry Grandma, you'll grow into it."
June modeling her finished necklace.
The whole family, minus Kerry and kids.
The grandkids
With my girlies

Friday, May 7, 2010
Today was Sammy's baptism. The girls just love him, Junie especially loves his doggies. I thought the girls looked darling in the skirts Grandma Pattie made. June loved Par at the baptism. If she was upset or wanted something, she went straight to him. Smart girl knows who will never tell her no!

Tulip Festival

We finally had a break in this rainy weather so I wanted to go to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.
June was excited to be outside with Grandma and Grandpa!

Bella looking beautiful by the flowers.
June was more interested in Grandpa than having her picture taken.
We tried to get a picture together

The gardens were beautiful!
We tried again.

They loved watching the fish in the pond.
We tried again, but by this time, June was done cooperating.

This owl was sitting on her eggs near the waterfall.
We ended up with parasols which the girls loved. There are better pictures under Baker photos if you want to check them out!
