Sunday Talk

Sunday, August 31, 2008
Bella was very excited for Sister to come to church for the first time and listen to her talk. She begged and begged for me to let her hold June and take a picture, so here it is. She even did a good job on her talk. We sometimes wonder where this little girl comes from, she is definitely not shy!

Baby Becca

Friday, August 29, 2008

Baby Becca came over with her parents and brought us dinner. She is such a happy girl. It was funny to hear her babble on and on and on. She and Genevieve are going to end up great friends!

First Tub

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

June's belly button has finally fallen off so we can give her real tubs! She seems pretty coontent to soak in the water a bit. I am glad Dad is willing to do most of the work, I get nervous when she is so slippery!

Bella and June

The question I keep getting asked is how is Bella taking a sibling. I have to admit she is handling it better than I had expected. She is very interested in her. She likes to help me change the diapers, but finds the whole feeding process "interesting." She holds her every now and then, but mostly likes to give her toys. She smothers her with kisses and is a little frustrated that she can't give the baby better hugs. She likes to tell her about princesses and calls her princess. I love having two little girlies!

Heart Issues

Monday, August 25, 2008

I thought it would be easiest to just put this on the blog instead of explaining a million times. After Genevieve was born the doctors detected a slight heart murmur. They thought it probably wasn't a big deal but want us to have it checked out. We spent the day at Primary Children's Hospital have tests run. Miss June did such a good job the whole time, just slept and ate through the hole thing. It turns out she does have a small hole between the two main chambers of her heart as well as a little flap. The little flap is not a big deal and a lot of people have it. The hole is something that should close itself up over time. We have to have it looked at again when she is 3, so obviously it is not something to be too worried about. It was such a relief to get this over with and find out my beautiful baby is going to be okay.

So Blessed

Sunday, August 24, 2008
I spent the evening holding my new baby, watching my Bella and her Dad playing hide and seek. (Bella's can't stand to stay hiding for long, so she jumps out quick, but Dad is really good at changing hiding places, so it is really funny to see.) All I can think is that life is good and I am incredibly blessed.

Cousins

Candice and Chris brought over Baby Zoe to meet her new cousin. You say three pounds doesn't make a difference?

Genevieve June

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Genevieve June is here and doing great. We brought her home on Wednesday, after a little drama. she had jaundice and they made us leave her at the hospital. It was probably the worst experience of my life to leave without her. Luckily, we just went to my mom's house about 10 minutes away, because it was less than 2 hours before they called and said we could come and get her. We raced back to the hospital and brought her home. We did have to keep her under the lights in a baby straight jacket for a little while, but after a day we were able to send the lights back. Meanwhile, Bella ended up with the flu and had to stay at Grandma's for an extra day, I am sure she wasn't complaining. We have everyone home now and it is wonderful to be all together as a family.

We stopped in for a quick visit to Baby Zoe today. Isn't she such a cute little thing. We are excited to have a cousin so close and just a week older than our little bug. We are looking forward to lots of play time together!

The Show

Last night Bella and Lily put on quite the show. It included lots of twirls, leaps and high kicks! Bella was the Rose Fairy Princess.

Lily was excellent as the Frog Princess!

And of course, we ended the night swimming with Grandpa! I just love these summer nights, it is making me sad to think they are coming to an end!

Tomorrow is the Big Day!

It's finally here, I am getting induced tomorrow! I can't wait for this baby to get here. We are very excited, even Bella. She has no idea what she is in for! I let Bret take a picture of me pregnant. These are his two sisters, Lauren and Candice, a couple of weeks ago. Candice has already had Baby Zoe and she is a doll. Lauren should be having Baby Boy soon. We are going to have a lot of babies running around next summer!

Lost Dog

Thursday, August 14, 2008
I was at lunch with my Mom, sister Katie, Baby Becca and Bella when I received an urgent call from Bret. He asked me if I could leave immediately and go help his Mom with something. Of course I said yes and headed over. It turns out the pool guy had come without and appointment and let Boston the dog out. She was nowhere to be found. You have to understand, Boston is Bret's sister Natalie's baby. She is really part o the family. She has this funny little personality and just fits in. She has decided she is the protector of the kids in the family. She runs along side the kids while they are at the pool and will even jump in after them if she thinks they are splashing too much. And don't spend too much time sitting at the top of the slide, Boston gets too worried. It is really cute to see how sweet she is with the kids, and the kids really love her. We began scouring the neighborhood, calling for her, Bella kept screaming "Boston, come out, come out where ever you are." She even gave me instructions on how to find her, "You find a dog that is black and kind-of yellow and really sweet, and then you will find Boston." We looked for about 3 hours, putting up posters everywhere. Chris went door to door. Half the neighborhood was looking. Melia was saying prayers, Paul and Lauren plastered the neighborhood with flyers. Even the pool guy spent hours looking. They caught sight of her down the street, but she was too fast for us to catch her. Bret and I had to leave and see the new baby, but then headed back once we heard she was still lost. Just as we got back to keep looking we heard the great news, Boston was found! It is great to have the girl back, we really missed her!

Baby Hailey

Sunday, August 3, 2008

We were so excited to meet Baby Hailey. Kerry and Shawn were in town for about a week and it was great. We were able to share in Hailey's blessing and then lots of play with the kids, especially swimming! We miss them already so please come back soon!

DeYoung Family Swim Party

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Sorry for all the swimming posts, but you can tell how we spend our summers. This is my favorite one of all this year. Lily and Bella were having a great time pushing in Uncle Chris and they loved it even more when he brought them with him. Bret took this picture at the annual DeYoung Family swim party, check out his photos for others, especially Matt and Natalie getting pushed in and Miss Holly Dolly looking adorable!
