Heart Issues

Monday, August 25, 2008

I thought it would be easiest to just put this on the blog instead of explaining a million times. After Genevieve was born the doctors detected a slight heart murmur. They thought it probably wasn't a big deal but want us to have it checked out. We spent the day at Primary Children's Hospital have tests run. Miss June did such a good job the whole time, just slept and ate through the hole thing. It turns out she does have a small hole between the two main chambers of her heart as well as a little flap. The little flap is not a big deal and a lot of people have it. The hole is something that should close itself up over time. We have to have it looked at again when she is 3, so obviously it is not something to be too worried about. It was such a relief to get this over with and find out my beautiful baby is going to be okay.

Julie...I know I have said this, but she is beautiful...just stunning. =] I just want you to know, for your own comfort (and it may be something totally different, but...) Eric had something that sounds exactly the same when he was born. (Hole and flap.O We spent a few days seeing different doctors during his first year. Luckily, it completely took care of itself, just like they said it probably would. I just hope that can help you feel even better about everything!

Your kids are darling and I love seeing pictures! =] Love, Mel
