Edu Center Field Trip

Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Bella's school had a fun field trip to the Edu-Center. Bella was very excited and told me this year she was going to do it all. She kept saying "I am ready for anything."
She practiced her kung-fu!
Walked across the rope bridge!

And even made it down her nemesis (and mine) the black slide. They have this slide that is completely black on the inside. Usually, she is scared to death of it, but this year she was determined to try it. It is my nemesis also, because every year, I end up having to go down it too. It is not made for grown-ups, so you don't really slide, just kind-of move yourself down a pitch black slide, terrified the whole time that I am going to get stuck in this thing! This year, Bella had trouble finding it so I ended up climbing over with her to it. I helped her get to it and down she went. I turned to climb back down, when this cute little boy says, "Can you help me to, I'm scared." So, I help him up to the mouth of the slide. He looks at me and says "Can I go down on your lap. I'm really, really scared." What do you say to that? So once again, I too had to make it down the black slide.

Sister Stories

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Bella invited June in for story time tonight. They were excited to be together. Notice Bella holding June's hand. June loves to be in big sisters room, I think there is just so much to see!

Happy Birthday Bret!

Happy Birthday Bret! We love you!

My Pony!

With a little work, I finally got June's hair into a little pony!
Add a bow and look how cute!
June loves her lipstick and wouldn't put it down, even for a picture. A girl never goes anywhere without her lipstick!

Farmington Bay

Friday, February 20, 2009
For Friday Fun Day, Mom had another great idea. I heard there are tons of Bald Eagles at Farmington Bay. (Actual quote from neighbor, "My daughter stopped counting at 47.") I was thinking, educational and cool to see. We had a little trouble finding the place. Apparently the nature center website has yet to put Legacy Parkway on their map, which proved to be a little road block to have to get around.
We did find this fantastic FRONT yard along the way. Yes, I said front yard and there was property for sale close by in case you are ready for much more interesting new neighbors than I am sure you already have. The pictures really don't do it justice, so if you happen to be heading to West Bountiful, let us know, we can tell you how to get there and check it out for yourself.
Once we finally made it to the bay, this friendly sign met us at the locked gate. Just in case you were thinking of leaving an animal, don't do it here! By the time we found the right entrance, Bella was begging, to please go home, over and over. She had enough of the drive and was not interested in trying to find birds. Dad finally convinced her to get out of the car and look around, but she really found it pretty disappointing.
And here it is, the lone bald eagle. If you can't see it, that's okay. We aren't really certain if it is a bald eagle, but let us pretend for just a little while. And please don't bring up that it might have helped to bring binoculars!

Tulips!

Monday, February 16, 2009
These are the beautiful tulips Bret gave me for Valentine's Day.
Tulips are my favorite flower and Bret took these pictures with his new camera lens he got for his birthday.
These make me excited for spring. I have beautiful tulips in my yard, thanks to a wonderful sister in law who planted them before I even lived here. Thanks again Janine!

The Hoot!

Sunday, February 15, 2009
Technically, this belongs with Valentine's Day, but I decided the Hoot needed it's own blog entry. The Hoot has become a very important part of our lives, not simply a Valentine decoration, picked up on a whim at Target. Bella loves this Hoot. She is always playing pass the Hoot with dad which is really just throwing it in the air while mom prays they don't break anything. The Hoot is invaluable at bedtime as it eats anything scary (real or imagined) that might appear in your room. Bella will share the Hoot with June, but usually only for short periods of time. We love you Hoot!
Notice June sneaking a little lick in!

Happy Hearts Day!

Happy Valentines Day from my 2 sweet girlies!
Bella's secret valentine had been leaving things under her pillow for a little while now, so she was very excited for the big day. The night before her valentine left her new jammies.
In the morning, we had a fun pink breakfast, complete with pink pancakes and chocolates for everyone! June was a little nervous about her bulldog, but now loves him!
And Bella loves her Princess Kitty!

What will you celebrate?

June's first Mickey Mouse shirt!

Preschool Valentine

Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Bella was very excited for her Valentine's Day party at preschool. We worked hard on her valentine's and she couldn't wait to give them out.
She loved doing the bean bag rock.
She snuggled with this little boy all during the stories. (Good thing Bret wasn't there!) I asked her after what she was doing and she told me he was sad so she was taking care of him.

Hair Hearts

Tuesday, February 10, 2009
How is this for fancy hair! I saw it on a blog and we tried it, not perfect, but I thought it was pretty cute for Valentine's Day!

My Fancy Dress

Friday, February 6, 2009
Here I am, a big girl in my fancy dress!
This is the dress my cousin Gracie wore to my parent's wedding. Thanks Aunt Jen for saving it for me!

Happy Birthday Aunt Kristie

Wednesday, February 4, 2009
Happy Birthday to Aunt Kristie, we hope you had a great day!
Bella and her friend had a great time making you cupcakes!

Masterpieces, each one!

Superbowl

Sunday, February 1, 2009
Since June has been a little sick, we had our own Superbowl Party this year. I would like to say we all watched the game together as a family, but you know how I feel about watching sports! We did all watch the halftime show together and especially were ready for the 3-D commercial.
Bella tried to help June, but she really wasn't that interested!

She did like playing with the glasses!

Dad just hopes his girls will always watch football with him!
