Bret's family invited us on an outing during the day on New Years Eve. We started out at an art exhibit down at BYU. Grandpa Clyde is working on getting one of the grandkids at his old stompin' grounds and you can't start too early!
June was happy to share her goldfish with Zoe.
After, it was Pizza factory for lunch and then to the Wilkinson Center for bowling. June should us her dancing skills.
Bella was very excited to bowl.
Bella and Lily were very excited that Grandpa arranged for them to have the Rudolf the Red Nose lane, it was the best one. Thank goodness for ramps and gutter guards to make bowling fun!
Only 2 left!
Thumbs up from Lily!
June was just as happy to have Grandma chase her around the halls. It was a great time by all. That night, we had our own New Year's celebration which included bedtime at 8:00!
After visiting with Grandma Pattie and Grandpa Boyd at our house and getting in a little rest, we headed over to see our Baker cousins later in the evening.
The girls were excited about their new wagon, but really excited about their dogs. Bella and Lily were happy to get matching ones.
June was happy to share the bottle with her doggie!
Then, she just wanted to play with Daddy, away from all the noise and chaos of the cousins!
Bella some how got it into her head that she needed to pick a special present for Dad. She was very excited about it and even though she normally can't keep a secret, she kept this one. She did talk about the present a lot, just not what was inside it.
Dad had a perfect reaction!
Dad was very pleased with his Christmas pineapple! What a funny girl!
Bella was very excited to head out and see the haul!
June was a little nervous about everything at first.
She quickly figured out what was going on and was very excited to check everything out!
She was very excited about all the necklaces or pretties as she calls them.
The girls love to get their book from their dad each year.
Bella let me know that she doesn't like to open presents from me because it is always clothes. She was okay with this vest, because "Only the fanciest people wear fur." We had a great morning with lots of surprises! Merry Christmas!
It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without opening up a present. Bella has figured it out that it is always the same, pajamas.
Junie liked the little skirt. Bella was especially pleased with her penguin slippers.
All ready for visions of sugar plums!
(Okay, I have to admit we took the last two pictures in March because I kept forgetting to get a picture of them together. Better late than never, right!)
Every year we make a gingerbread house. I love the tradition, it reminds me of when my mom used to make a cookie train when we were kids. June had been sick so we were keeping her home to make certain she was well for Christmas.
Bret is always a good sport and pitches in to help!
It never turns out quite like the picture on the box, but they are always beautiful!
Bret and I were in charge of my family Christmas Party this year. We decided it was time for a fiesta. We started with a yummy dinner of fajitas! After, the kids put on a puppet show nativity. Madi and Abby were awesome sports as the narrators! Then, what kind of a fiesta is it without a pinata? After the kids were good and wild on sugar, it was time for presents!
Bella was very excited by the polly pockets Aunt Heather picked out for her. (Only Aunt Heather buys things like the polly pocket that shoots out glitter!)
June was very pleased to have her own dish of ice cream!
To end the night, June and Liney put on a little dance show! Merry Christmas everyone!
Some how I got it into my head that we really needed to drive to Thanksgiving Point to see the lights. It just sounded warmed than walking around temple square. Bella was sound asleep by the time we made it, and after a lot of coaxing she woke up (it seriously took about 15 minutes to convince her to open her eyes!)
June was bright eyed of course and loving the whole thing!
It was a pretty display and much warmer than walking around!
